I (foolishly) changed my password on my laptop before
going abroad for three weeks, I wasn't sure that my
original password was secure enough. I didn't take the
laptop with me. Now I'm back, and I can't remember the
new password, only the old one. The hint I left is too
cryptic for any use.
Is any way to find out the password or to reset it to the
old one without having to reinstall Windows? I can get
into Registry thru an other (guest) user account which is
not protected by a password.
Thank you for the help.

Hi Victor,

Logon as administrator and reset it if necessary, though there are some
problems with doing this, see:

Why is it that people think you need to have a password. If you have
nothing important in your computer, which most people don't, then
don't use one. Saves problems like you are having. If you really need
one use something simple that you can't forget, like the word
"stupid". How many people would think to use that to break into your
computer. Obviously only someone that knew you. :-)
