password in to XP

I've recently reinstalled XP on my home computer and
reactivated the password option to prevent my kids from
using while I'm away.
Low and behold, it won't accept any password I type in.

Is there a backdoor or something to allow me to change?
Safe- mode?

Any ideas?

If that doesn't work out, you might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:
