Hello all...

I am the only person to use my pc .. therefore the administrator.

I have numerous programs that I use the same password for .. and password is
quite lengthy.

Is there any way to "assign" a one (1) "hotkey" to automatically receive my
password?

I know there are purchase programs to do this, but most of them are a rip off.

I look forward for any help or assistance you can offer.

Even if it's possible to do this...do you really think it's a good idea?
Especially if you're running as Administrator? If your computer is ever
compromised by a virus or other form of malware you are up the
proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle.

Do you live in a cave where nobody ever comes to visit you? Who might be
using your computer?

Always log in to your account manually, and use an account with
restricted permissions for your everyday computing.

Well this would defeat the purpose of having a password at all (in fact you're supposed to use different passwords everywhere), but
there's a few options.

One is to use a password manager like RoboForm to keep track of your passwords and even automatically fill them out (you still need
to use a single master password for it, to keep all your other passwords safe). That's probably your best bet, since that way you
still have good password management.

Another option, since you obviously aren't too concerned with security, is to just change the passwords to something shorter (if
possible), or just remove the passwords altogether (again if possible).

Finally, you could use a macro program to assign a text string (the password) to one or more keystrokes. MacroMaker, HotkeyMaster,
etc. can all type in (or paste) a predefined string of text whenever you press a key, key combination, etc. For example, you could
set it up so that your password is pasted whenever you press Ctrl+Alt+P.

I bought a NOSTROMO Keypad a while ago mainly for gaming.
after a while of playing around with it i realized that you can program
MACROS(a certain order of keystrokes by just pushing one button) into it and
save them on your computer.
Even though i don't use it for passwords and wouldn't recommend that i do
use it for written text on online gaming and chatprogramms.
You just have to make sure it's software starts up with windows when
rebooting(wich is default).

P.S.: it does remember more than just letters and numbers i.e. pauses
between keystrokes and pushing the Enter Button. And you can save and load
different profiles:for example:"MSMessenger","Passwords","Delta Force Black
Hawk Down"....

Good luck !

Thanks to all for replying to my question.
All of you gave me good responses ....
Ted, I DO practically live in a cave .. lol ... I have an empty bedroom
formy "computer room" that locks up when I leave...
I'm disabled and usually spend the whole day "surfing and learing" from my pc.
Again, thanks again to all of you.
