I recently purchased the premium yahoo mail service. When I tried to
configure outlook to the appropriate pop and smtp addresses, the user ID and
password I set in the profile would not work. The "enter password"
disappears, then reappears. I have to cancel and it gives me a login
failure. I've tried to delete the user subkey folder in the registry editer.
There were 2. One deleted, the other gave me a delete error and would not
delete. I'm wondering if this could be my problem.

3 weeks ago, I had the same issue. After disabling my anti virus email auto
protect, it worked. Now the problem popped up again. I am running XP home
edition, SP 1 (I think). I have Norton Antivirus.

Permanently disable the useless AV scanning in Outlook and revisit Yahoo!
mail FAQs for help with the mail settings.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head-scratching, Frazier asked this group:

I've triple checked my yahoo settings. They are correct. I've disabled the
Norton antivirus. How do I disable the Outlook anti virus scanning? I cant
seem to find that.
