Hi guys & gals.

Our network is setup so that users have to change their passwords every 42
days.
6 Days before they are supposed to change it does the normal prompts saying
they have 6 days left and so on. If the users leave it for the last day &
change their password it just hangs after typing in a new password. It does
not start until you manually shutdown the machine & reboot with the new
password. If they change their password before the last day (e.g. 2-3 days
left) it changes fine.

Any ideas?

Well, it's a kludge, but my guess would be that you need to 'flush the
registry buffers' to get what you want.

I would think that pressing ctrl-alt-delete after the hang would bring up
"Task Manager". This would allow you to End Task on Explorer, and then use
the "New Task" button to type EXPLORER.EXE, causing the buffer flush you
need, without restarting windows.
