Partitions

Dear all.

I have created one new partitions on my C drive with Partition Magic 8.0.

I can se the partition in the management system but not in my explorer. I
have at the moment 4 partitions on two drives and two CD drives.

Can you help me me solve this....

Have you formatted them (in disk management system) yet? You need to do
that before they get assigned drive letters (you may be asked to reboot
after doing the formatting).

If you look in Disk MAnagement, do you see a letter assigned to the
partition (look in the lower right side for the graphic of the drive).

If not then it probably has not been formatted - r-click in it and
Format partition.

If it has a letter, then it may be hidden from Explorer - Use TweakUI -
one of the XP Powertoys from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP. Its My Computer - Drives page ensure that the letter is
checked
 
I have formatted the partition and it still doesnt work. As before I can sw
the partition in the management system, but not in Windows explorer.

I find it strange because I have used PM before in order to get the two
partitions on Drive 2.

Any more hints....

I'd recommend to post a Partinfo for Windows here (use for that purpose
PartInNT.EXE) and post the contents preferably using a link

What happens if/when you use disk management to add a drive letter to
the drive .. does it show up as having one?

You might want to fire up TweakuiXP (free MS powertoy download) and
check you haven't asked it to 'hide' some drive letters from explorer.
