I am using XP Home and I have a 20 gig hard drive. It was partitioned 10/10
during set-up. The Fat 32 part (10 gig) is almost full (about 97%) and the
other half is still empty.

A. Do I need this partition? If not how do I delete it so that Fat 32 is all
20 gigs?

B. Am I just not loading or transfering data to the other half as I should
be doing? If so, how do I do this.

I thought I was pretty good on Windows XP up to this point, but obviously I
missed something along the way. All of a sudden I don't feel too smart.

I'll welcome and appreciate all help.

Thanks, Dutch63

Please dis-regard this post.
I just read the answer here posted by another person with the same problem
and now know the answer.
Besides, after spending about an hour reading different posts here, I have
discovered that I really don't need the sarcastic answers that some members
post to people that come here looking for honest help. I guess being rude
comes with too much knowledge on any subject. It's easy to be rude and
dis-respectful when you are an just a screen name. Would these same people be
as rude and dis-respectful to a persons face? Probably not.
This, my first and last visit here, has been "interesting".
I'm outta here.................

Dutch,

I am sorry you had a bad experience with the newsgoup. Please configure a
proper newsreader, OE has one, and I'm sure you will enjoy a more useful
experience with the groups.

Dutch63,

just in case you still read this, these newsgroups are open to
everybody, and this means that there will be a few idiots too.
Just ignore them.

For the most part I find that the climate in the technical
newsgroups is quite good, actually. Most people here are
outstandingly helpful, particularly when you take into account
that they do this for free.

As to the partitions, my recommendation would be to use a third
party tool like BootIt NG to remove the second partition and
stretch the first one over the entire hard disk, but you
apparently have already found out.
