Hi,
I bought Toshiba p15-S420 with Home ed. of XP loaded.
I couldnt get any help from Tech. Support @ Toshiba to
create new partitions in the 80GB Hard disk.

1) Could someone tell me how to create partitions without
buying any 3rd party software (like PartitionMagic (I
think this does partition only for Win98 and lower, is it
true?) )

2) How can I create a Bootable CD? I dont have a boot
image and neither a floppy drive. The DragnDrop CD+DVD
s/w that came with XP requires a boot image on a floppy
drive.

I desparately need to load Linux along with this. Any
ideas/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Dev.

*** Not true. Partitioning products such as PQMagic
*** or Acronis PartitionExpert deal with all partitions
*** created by any version of Windows. There are also
*** some freeware tools, if you're prepared to trust them.
*** Search Google for "Disk Partition".

*** Use the Lilo boot loader, or XOSL (which is free).

The following will wipe out all the data on your Hard disk
and you may have to reinstal everything.
If you are prepared for that, you could boot the laptop
with the WinXP CD.
Delete the partitions that are there and recreate it.
While recreating make sure that you choose the size for
the partitions.
