Parameter queries

I am using Microsoft Access 2000 and am trying to pass a contol
(specifically a combo box on a bound form) to a parameter query using that
control. When I enter the sting [forms]![form name]![combo box] in the
criteria field of the query design view, Access simply displays the string
in the pop up window asking for the parameter.

Is there a way to pass this value to my parameter query?

A couple possibilities...

First, that the underlying field in the table is actually defined as a
"lookup" data type, in which case what you see and what is stored are two
different matters.

Second, a typo is very common -- did you manually type in the "sting" (see
your typo below?!) "[forms]!...", or did you use the wizard to select the
form & control? Try the latter if you haven't.

You are on the right track.
