I had a corupted file according to microsoft help. They suggested that a do a parallel operating system. Now thats done, and I cannot retreive any of my original software or files. Please help.

I need to open my original xp operating system, which I cannot
do. I believe I have lost all of my software and documents. Help
The parallel install will not include your old software - you *will* have to
reinstall that from the original media.
Your original files and documents are (usually) still intact, unless you
happened to name your user the exact same thing as in the original install,
in which case under C:\documents and settings\, it will have over-written
the old user profile. If you did not name the user(s) the same thing, you
can search through C:\documents and settings for your old username, use the
article I gave earelier to take ownership if needed, and manually copy your
files over to the new profile.
