Panasonic NV-GS3 not detected over Firewire - help!!?

Hey folks

My Panasonic NVGS3 is not recognised over Firewire -
everthing is fine elsewhere - DV out working - cable OK -
Firewire port up & running...
Any suggestions how I can get it to be seen?

I have the same problem with a PAnasonic NV DS-33. I

have tried the downloads from the Microsoft Support page
(Knowledge base numbers 810032 (329256 does not seem to
be available) but to no avail. Have you got yours fixed,
and if so, how did you do it?
