When I try to select text (arrow on the left) from one page to the next, the
selection goes so fast that I am at the bottom of the document before I can
stop. When I try to back up, I am at the top of the document before I can
stop, with too much text selected. How do I slow this down? Is my new
computer just too fast?

There are ways to select text character by character or at least word by
word. Look in Word's Help under "Keyboard shortcuts." The ones you want are
under "Editing and moving text and graphics."

Good luck!

To select text, either click at the beginning of your
selection and then Shift+click at the end or use the
Shift key plus your four cursor arrows to select the text
you want. Don't ever use your mouse!!

Left click with the mouse at the beginning of the desired text, then used
the scroll bar to scroll until the end of the desired text comes into view,
then hold down the Shift key and left click at that point. The text will
then be selected.

I know exactly what you mean, it used to drive me crazy.
You need a mouse with a scroll dial on the top between the
left and right buttons. This will solve your problem.
