pages appear different resolution/browsers

Any advice on how to get pages to appear more uniform in different
browsers/resolutions.

i.e. resolutions to build a site in, page size, fonts etc.

Design your pages for 750-760px wide.

PS...NOT a good idea to publish your phone numbers on newsgroups!...or your email out in the open like this.
