What is "Pagefile system file" it showed up what seems like out of nowhere
and uses 1.5 gb?

.
Pagefile is your virtual memory and if you have approx.
512mb of ram then 1.5gig of pagefile is just about right.

With 512MB of RAM, 1.5GB is much more page file than almost
anyone needs.

if I set the disablepagingexecutive to 1,
it can accelerate the system performance. But is there any cons about it?
thanks

Here is the odd thing, at least I think it is odd. This file has a create
date of Nov. 28/03. The reason I ask is that we have somehow lost approx.
850 mg on our drive C. We do have have 1.0 gb of ram. I have searched
through the drive C but can't find anything that should have eaten up all
this space. Have ran virus checker, turned off hide files etc. but can't
seem to find why we lost 850 mg on drive C. Any suggestions?

No it can't. The page file is your friend, not your enemy. It
isn't used unless it's needed. Having it there doesn't hurt you

But is there any cons about
it? thanks

Some programs won't run. Others that do run may get out of memory
errors if you ever need more memory than you have.
