Hi All,

Problem: Windows XP , Internet Explorer 6 , page setup in
Internet Explorer > Change Paper Orientation does not
retain setting for user after closing IE browser and re-
lauching.

Reproduce Problem: Lauch IE browser > Go to File Menu
select "Page Setup" in the orientation frame select
Landscape radio button > select OK.
Close down IE browser and then re-launch IE browser > Go
to File Menu "Page Setup" in the orientation frame you
will see your landscape selection has defaulted back to
Portrait "Printer Default settings apply"

Situation: We have upgraded our Standard Operating
Environment at our Goverment Educational institution
(Central TAFE) to Windows XP Professional operating
system, from Windows 98 operating system.

Windows 98 , Internet Explorer 6 , Page setup in Internet
Explorer > Change paper Orientation Does retain landscape
user setting after closing browser and re-launching

Windows 98 Operating System is using Registry key values

HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\pagesetup >Oreintation "2" would retain landscape
selection for IE Browser Page Setup.

Windows XP Operating System is using Registry key values,
However the orientation value is no longer present and is
set via
default printer settings.

Is their anyway I can force the page setup for Windwos
XP , Internet Explorer 6 to retain a landscape page setup
in IE browser, and not affecting my Default Printer setup
of Portrait.

Please Help as Windows 98 with IE browser allowed this.

I'm happy to give any more info if needed.

It looks like IE 6 on XP (or probably on 2K for that matter) doesn't look
for this value. I've tried setting it manually and then starting IE, but
nothing happens. Sadly, you may be out of luck.
