Page numbers don't work

I have 78 pages in a Word XP document. It contains multiple sections
for the different footer contents but the page numbers are from 1-78.
The page numbers are inserted as field codes in the format of "Page
{page} of {Numpages}"

They look perfect on screen but when printed each page prints its page
number as the current page and total page.
i.e. 1 of 1, 5 of 5, 16 of 16

They NumPages will NOT print! (but are visual on screen)

Please help. This is due now.
