Page Numbering Wrong

Word 2003: I already read the posts here about similar problems but the
answers didn't fix my problem.

I have a 3 page document with the page x of y code in the footer.

When I look at it on the computer, it shows page 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3. It
is correct in normal view and in print preview.

However, when I print it, it prints 1 of 4, 2 of 4, 3 of 4. It doesn't print
an extra blank page.

If I print it using current page, starting from page 3 and print it one page
at a time, it will print page 3 of 3. Then I print current page 2 and it
prints 2 of 3, and so on, correctly.

I've checked the codes. There isn't anything, not even a paragraph mark,
after the last line, no section break, page break, nothing.

All of the Word updates have been done.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Do you have "different left and right" headers, or maybe "mirror
margins" in Page Setup? or New Section begins on Odd [right-hand]
Page? It obviously wants you to have an even number of pages!

Thank you. For some reason, there was a "different first page" command in the
footer of the last page. I don't know why it was there but when I deleted it,
the document started to print correctly.
