Hello,

Recently, when I've attempted to access a non-existent
page, my IE 6.0 automatically loads a search portal
(http://search.drsnsrch.com/) instead of the
standard "Page Not Found". How can I get rid of this?

I ran a SpyBot program and got rid of a bunch of junk on
my computer, but it didn't seem to help. I even did a
search for any reference to drsnsrch on my computer, but
to no avail.

This search page is bothersome and annoying, especially
because I get unwanted pop-up ads when I go to a different
URL or close the window.

Thanks,

Linda

you have spyware on your computer. removoing spyware can
be oun of the most fustrating thing to do.

I own my own computer support company and remove spyware
from computer on nearly a daily basis.

go to www.download.com and download AD-Adware6 and Spybot
search and Destroy.

theese 2 programs are free and remove about 90% of all
spyware. make sure to update the programs befor you run
them. if you computer is infected with spyware real bad
you might not be able to update the programs till after
you run them once and remove the bulk of the spyware.

Go to www.trendmicro.com and use their free online virus
checker it will detect and remove spyware related virus.

if you still have spyware on your computer go to
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html
and download CWShredder and Hyjackthis.

Run CWShredder first then Hyjackthis. HyjackThis will
shoy you entries in your registry careful messing with
your registry you could hose your computer.

THere is some spyware you must delete the folder to keep
it from reinstalling itself.

Removing spyware is an art form and after a while you get
to reconize what folders, files, registry entries are
spyware. there is also some spyware that requires you to
boot to a boot disk to rename the folder or delete the
folder

Not sure what your experience level is but you might be
better off calling your local computer support company to
have the spyware removed

good luck
