Hi,

I am using Word 2000 to produce an annual report. To make it look
professional I have a footer with a horizontal line, beneath which is the
'Page X of Y'. I am using A4 paper and the bottom margin is set to 1.5 cm
with the footer at 1.25. My problem is that the printer keeps printing the
footer 3.6 cm from the bottom of the page and I can't find a way to make it
go any lower.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Noel

Hi Noel

Let's try the easy thing first. Click the ¶ button on the toolbar. That
will display a ¶ sign at the end of each paragraph and a little raised
dot for each space. Have a look at your footer. Is it possible that you
have empty paragraphs or spaces after the text you want in the footer?
If that were the case, then Word will be displaying these empty
paragraphs or spaces, which would push the footer up the page. You can
delete the extra paragraphs or spaces just as you would delete any
character.

Hope this helps.
