I have a Pc here that cant connect to the net. It is set
up in a completly default manner, the same way 3 other
computers here are able to connect. I am connecting
through a Routed cable modem in a small buisness. nothing
special. just a cable modem, a router and around 10
computers on it. The only real difference i see between
this computer and my own that are working, is a strange
gold padlock looking icon in the top right cover of the
local area connection icon. Does any1 know what that
means, or how to get rid of it. The connection its self
makes no mention of not being functioning or disabled, so
im a bit confused. Any1 care to help a guy out?

That means the XP firewall is enabled on that connection.

That shouldn't affect the ability to connect to the Internet,
but will knock out file and print sharing.
