When I press F8 to go into Safe Mode> option to hit window xp home and System
Recovery. So can I hit System Recovery and do it in Safe mode, since its very
slow to get into Normal mode. (As far as I know for PBell pc, we need a
floppy disk to satrt the process or they may have change) Any advice? Thanks.

Your question is ambiguous. Are you asking about Windows System Restore
function or Packard Bell's System Recovery which presumably is a
process to restore the computer to factory condition? The two items
have nothing to do with each other.

To do a Windows System Restore (see link below for information on System
Restore), you most certainly can run it in Safe Mode. To get to Safe
Mode, repeatedly tap the F8 key as the computer is starting up. This
will get you to the correct menu; use your arrow keys to navigate since
the mouse doesn't work here. No floppy disk is required to start the
computer in Safe Mode. Once you have logged into an account in Safe
Mode, go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore and
then choose "Restore my computer to an earlier time".

System Restore information from MVP Bert Kinney: http://bertk.mvps.org

To start the Packard Bell process to return the computer to factory
condition (if they have provided such a process), refer to your
computer manual or look on Packard Bell's tech support site for
instructions.

Then you will need to contact Packard Bell tech support or look on their
website for support for your particular model computer. This is not a
Windows issue.

The thing is the S/N # is been decoded and it shows no result when I do
search on their "uk' website. BTW, safe mode > microsoft windows xp home
edition or >Microsoft Windows Recovery Console
which is of no use to me as I want a factory condition.
Just could not understanf why must they decode the sn #

I'm very sorry but this is an issue between you and Packard Bell. You
will need to speak to someone at the company. This has nothing to do
with Microsoft or Windows.
