Take off the dead fan, turn the case sideways and open it up. Then
set a glass of iced tea directly on the Northbridge chip. If you live
in a humid environment, the condensation will make a terrific thermal
conductor. If you don't have iced tea, then tropical kool-aid works
almost as well.
