I've just set up a new computer with this mainboard. I've got
everything to work except the onboard sound. I've installed the
soundmax drivers and utility from the cd that came with the mobo but
still no sound. I'm using the lime output from the mobo (not SPDIF).
does this have anything to do with the problem? if anyone can please
give me advice I would greatly appreciate.

OOps! Stupid mistake. I plugged the lime jack in the blue socket. I'm
a little ashamed to admit this stupid mistake after having built my
first computer without a mistake! I should have thought that ASUS is
too smart to provide faulty drivers or sound!!;) BTW Despite there are
practically no reviews on the ASUS P4s800 on the web, it's a great
board for those who are not looking for things as oc'ing, SATA,or dual
channel memory. For those, the P4s800-D and P4s800-D-e based on the
SIS 655Fx and 655Tx chipsets are more suitable.
