Needs USB2, Firewire, 3 PCI slots, SATA not required, built in sound and
graphics.

I'm a bit out of touch.

PC is for office/general/multimedia use (not gaming). Will have 512Mb RAM,
120GB IDE HD, wifi via PCI, DVD Burner.

Cheers,

Fred.

It's ATX not mATX I'm interested in.

Cheers,

Fred.

When you say 3 PCI slots folks are naturally going to think mATX because
full size ATX generally has 5 PCI slots.

If 3 is what you want, what is wrong with mATX?

Sorry for confusion, I was forgetting how many your average ATX board has. 5
is good. I do want ATX.

Cheers

Fred.

OK. Just wondered.

mATX fits in an ATX case too; just doesn't have as many PCI slots.

I use the filters at www.newegg.com to look up components with certain
characteristics, which is how I created the previous list. I can see you
are in the UK, like myself, but it is still a useful site to look up
available stuff.

The market for mATX motherboards with onboard video is quite high, as these
are used in most office PCs. There are fewer ATX boards with onboard video,
but if they don't have onboard Firewire, they always have more PCI slots for
an add-on card.

Socket 478, ATX, onboard video/audio, USB2, Firewire, 800FSB. You have a
choice of the following two:

Foxconn 865A01-G-6EKRS
Gigabyte GA-8IG1000 PRO-G

As above, but with no onboard Firewire:

Abit IS7-M
AOpen AX4SG Max II
AOpen AX4SG-UN
Intel D865GBF
Intel D865GBFL
Intel D865GBFLK
MSI 865G NEO2-PLS
