XP Gurus:
I believe that I was told that XP Professional will only
work in a Peer to Peer network of 10 computers? My peer
to Peer network is mixed OS's- W98, W2000, WXP Pro.

What happens when you add number 11+?

Are the effects only seen on the WXP machines?

Thanks,
BrianG

There's no limit to the number of computers that can network with
Windows XP Professional.

Windows XP Professional allows a maximum of 10 other computers to
actively connect to its shared resources simultaneously. An 11th
computer that tires to connect at the same time that 10 others are
connected will get an error message saying that the limit has been
reached.

Computers that aren't actively connected to a computer's shared
resources don't count against the limit. Just being on the network
doesn't count against the limit. When a computer disconnects from a
shared resource, it no longer counts against the limit. See this site
for more information:

It is also the same with 2000. Those machines will only be
able to access 10 network resources.
