Windows XP Home....For some reason now, when I click into My
Computer....Local Disk C....Documents and Settings....I am now seeing All
Users, Default Users, and Owner. Instead of Owner, it used to say Linda,
and I was the administrator....Don't know what to do in order to change
this. I tried to just rename it, but that didn't work. Anyone know what I
need to do in order to get myself as administrator again? Thank you in
advance for any help you can give me.

Control Panel> User Accounts. Is your account listed as a member of the
administrator group here?

Most OEM prepared machines set up the first account as Owner. After the
user enters their name during the oobe screens, and the account is renamed.
The user's name will appear on the Welcome screen, on the Start Menu and in
Control Panel> User Accounts. However the name of the underlying folder
(Owner), will stick. XP will work fine with this arrangement of
Linda/Owner.

If you really want the folder name and the account name to match, rename
the Linda/owner account and then create a new account Linda. The folders
and subfolders for "Linda" will be created the first time that you log on
to the account. There'll be some extra work to do after the above steps -
copying over files, email, shortcuts and so on - to the new account's
folders.
