Overlay text on an image

Is there a way to stick text on top of an image without actually creating a
composite image? (FP creates a composite when you do banners. I'm in a
situation outside FP where I'd like to be able to get the same effect but
through HTML.)

Easiest way is to apply the image as a Cell background image, and then add your text in the cell
- harder way (to get it right for all screens / browsers) is to use Layers and absolute positioning
