overheating???

hi. my laptop would sometime suddenly make loud noises like the fan is
working very hard or something. does that mean its overheating and what
should i do in that case?? i try to open up my laptop and see if its very
clogged with dust but i couldn't get it to open so whats the best way to do
it and please help me before it explores. thanks

I hope you meant "explodes".

Canned air - turn off the system and find all the open areas and blow out
the dust (upright can only, please.)

You could also get a laptop cooler system - but I find that is more for the
lap of the person with the laptop than the laptop itself.
 
I certainly wouldn't want his laptop to explode, especially if it is being
used where they are usually placed during use. Ouch! (-:

It might not be too good if it "explored" that area either. :D


navyboylover18, get a copy of SpeedFan and use that to see if your system is overheating or not. It might just be that the fan is
dying as fans are wont to do. In that case, you will need to get it replaced, or better yet, fixed. It's quite easy to bring a
dying fan back to life by cleaning the dust out and oiling it (of course you'd need to crack the laptop open first…)
