Hi

Hans has raised an issue I was mulling over - on adding an
extra HD, does the computer internal temp go too high and
require another fan fitted... How do I check this out,
please? In the bios I know I can get the temperature
readings. This is an area I don't know enough about!

TIA,

CC.

It is not a good idea to stack them too close together, and extra fans are
always welcome..

I have the slide-in holding box in which the floppy drive
sits at the top and the old HD at the bottom, with space
for one more IDE device in between. I have just added the
new HD in there, so the three are all quite close
together. This is not a good idea, by the sounds of it?
I would have to buy a cradle to sit it elsewhere if this
is a no-no or put another fan on. The CPU temp is sitting
at 30C or 86 F at the moment...

Some cases are better than others.. if you have a spare 5.25in slot, get a
carrier and put it there.. it might mess up your cabling arrangements
though..
