I use Windows XP.

I have a self programming memory switch on my outside lighting for security
reasons.( Minder Research Corp).
Whenever the switch / lights are activated, I am unable to access the
internet.
Anyone had this problem and any solutions, short of throwing the switch
away?

While I have not personally had the problem, a friend of mine reported that
he had the problem using his modem (voice worked but couldn't get a
connection to his usual dial-up account) on the telephone line when the
mercury vapor lights on his street came on. He never did get the problem
resolved until he purchased a different modem.

If you are using wireless system to access the internet, move the
transmitting or receiving antenna to a different area of the house and try
again.

If this is a wired system you may have to purchase a power-line conditioning
system or install filters on the phone/cable line. You may be able to get
help with the condition from your phone or cable co. but I doubt it.

Good luck with your problem and I really hope others can help more.
