I have just got this version - from OL2002. When I double-click on a
message to open it, it opens in a new window on my task bar. I have to
either open that or double-click again to open it normally. I'm sure there
must be an option to fix this but cannot find it anywhere.

Also, I don't have News on my Go menu. I had to go to Customise and add the
button to my toolbar?

I don't understand what you believe is wrong. Double clicking a message to
open it *should* create a new window and, naturally, a tag for that window
will be added to the Task Bar. Why is that not what you want?
 
I double-click and the email appears not to open. the menu stays exactly as
it was. When I double-click again I get the new message opened in front of
me - i.e. I have to double-click twice.

If I only double-click once, nothing appears to have happened - but if I
look down onto the task bar I see I have the message which has effectively
been opened and then minimised so I have to click on it again to open it.

Hope that makes more sense?

Since writing the message originally, it seems to have stopped doing it and
I don't think it did it when I first installed it. But I don't think I have
changed anything to stop it and wonder if it will come back. It didn't seem
to happen on message that had already been opened once - just new messages.
 
It's back again! The problem appears to be intermittent. Effectively, it
opens the email in minimise mode so I have to double-click twice to read
it - or double-click and then open the minimised window at the bottom.

I would assume this is not 'normal' behaviour since it's intermittent.
Never saw this with XP.

Any ideas?

Just to clarify, even if I right click over a message and choose Open, the
message is immediately minimised to the Task Bar, rather than opening.
Still intermittent but more on than off.
 
This is really bizarre but I think I've solved it.

It's to do with the toolbars. If I have 3 rows of toolbars at the top, the
emails get minimised on Open. If I remove a toolbar, this behaviour doesn't
happen.

Seems very odd and must be a bug but appears to be consistent - so at least
I know how to resolve it - even if it is annoying!

Well, although I tested this continually for a while and my theory appeared
to be correct - the problem has now come back - so still looking for a
solution...!

Any help would be appreciated - or even feedback from anyone who is
experiencing something similar. I have already found someone on another
newsgroup who was getting a similar problem.
