Every time I select my calendar (outlook 2000) it shuts down with an illegal
operation
Been working great for a couple of years, anyone know what's going on?
I tried rebooting to no avail...
thanks

Close outlook and rename the file "FRMCACHE.DAT" that you'll find in

C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\Local
Settings\Applicationdata\Microsoft\FORMS

Now restart Outlook and see if the error occurs again.

Nope, still does not work
I renamed the file FRMCACHE.old and rebooted.
I started outlook again, but same thing happened. The file FRMCACHE.DAT has
not been recreated.
any other ideas?

I am also now getting this meaage on active sync.
I have removed the offending appoinmnets, to no avail.

ActiveSync Error

after being open about 7 minutes, outlook closed with this message

Finally, a solution to the problem of the calendar.

I tried this just as a blind shot, not know what I was doing.

I did a search for any file called calendar.
I found a file called calendar.dbx
I renamed it calendar.dbxold and now all works fine!!

Now that is funny. Outlook uses .pst files. Outlook Express uses .dbx
files. Outlook Express has no calendar, never did, probably never will.

Why Outlook would try to use a file that is not available to it and why that
caused your problems is a mystery that will never be solved.

that is a mystery to me as well, considering there is no calendar.pst file
anywhere on my
computer. I was looking for it to run and scanpst program, but to no avail
It's just not there.
what kinda hybrid do I have>??? It's a legal registered copy....

Of course not, unless you created it. Outlook's PST file, which contains
the Calendar and all other Outlook data like COntacts, e-mail, Tasks, and so
on, will probably have a name other than "calendar". Most likely, it will
be named "outlook.pst".
I was looking for it to run and scanpst program, but to no
avail It's just not there.

Open WIndows Explorer and in the Address field, enter

%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

and click Go. You should see the PST there, unless you tooko specific steps
to place it elsewhere.

yes, mailbox.pst and archive.pst

It is now misbehaving again (same symptoms) but now I don't know what to do.
