Outlook2003 MainInbox mail is not showing new mail arrival. Must .

New mail arrival takes a very long time before it appears in the Main Inbox,
sometimes over 5-10 minutes (I have ReceiveandSend checking for new mail
every 2-3 minutes). And when it does arrive, there is never any sound or
popup window, even though in Outlook settings, I request both. Is there an
obvious fix? Is the problem definitely in Outlook or possibly Wndows XP Pro

Try changing your polling time (automatic send/receive) to at least 10
minutes and see if that helps. Your current setup is unrealistic.
