My Office XP Professional disc was stolen, so now I have
purchased office 2003. I need to install without losing
my information in outlook (contacts, memos, etc. ). This
is not an upgrade, it is a new install so I dont think my
info will be saved.

Can anyone help?

Thank you

Sheryl,

Before you start, ther are 2 files you need to find and make backup copies:
outlook.pst
and
archive.pst
You should find them here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
I would put my backups in a simple location like C:\OLbackups (just create a
new folder and name it OLbackups)
You should now be able to insert your disk and upgrade. After the upgrade,
You can open Outlook and select File>Open>Personal Folders File and navigate
to the backup Outlook.pst you copied. When it opens, you should be able to
copy all your mail and contacts to your new folders.(Just select all and
drag to the new folder)

Hope this helps. Please post back either way.
Good Luck
