Recently upgraded to XP from 98. System has Office 2000
on it but now my e-mails, address book or create mail
will not work. Is Office 2000 compatible with XP or do I
have to upgrade to Office 2003.

Thanks in adavnce.

Perfectly compatible.
Provide meaningful details on your problem.
"Doesn't work" tell us nothing. Sounds like you simply need to configure
your Outlook Address Book.

My properties fro Explorer under Program tab HTML eitor
doens't allow for Micro Word as editor only (Noyepad),
how can i configure for word> This prevents me from
opening my e-mails in full window as well as creating new
e-mails and opening address book.

Your description is completely unclear. Please provide accurate details of
the problems you are having and the steps that produced them.
It is not at all necessary to use Microsoft Word as the editor. Outlook has
a perfectly good email editor of its own.

ok

I upgraded to XP on sunday & also Nortons 2004 at the same
time. After the installations I am able to open my Outlook
Express but unable to open individual e-mails into new
window nor can I open my address book or create new e-
mails. Originally when this happened the program opened up
asking for the disc for Office 2000 Prof which is loaded
on the system. I noticed that under the properties for
HTML Editor it is using (Notebook) but the drop down
window does not give any options to change, just gives me
(Notebook), in my wifes computer the editor is using
(Microsoft Wood for Windows). I can't open my (Microsoft
Outlook) when I click on the shortcut either nor can I
view the properties for the program and when I look at the
program folder for Microsoft Office there is no EXE. file.
In updating the windows & nortons could I have lost some
files that can be obtained by reloading Office 2000?

Don't go confusing Outlook and Outlook Express. Outlook Express has nothing
whatsoever to do with Outlook or Office (except that both Outlook Express
and Outlook share part of the HTML-rendering code).
Originally when this happened the program opened up
asking for the disc for Office 2000 Prof which is loaded

And what did you do when it asked?

Exactly what happens?

It can be in a subfolder of C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Office

It is often a good idea when upgrading from Windows 98 to Windows XP to
reinstall Office.

Brian T., when it asked for Office 2000 I didn't have a
copy to insert so I canceled the request. If I try to open
(Micro-Outlook) the hour glass appears then leaves with no
action being accomplished. I'll try to reinstall Office
and see if it resolves the issue.

Thank You Bryan W.

I,m back in business, thanks to everyone who gave me
advise. The resolution was to re-install Office 2000 then
reboot the system. All problems seem to have disappeared.
I Hope.

Thanks Again - Bryan W.

How are you going to reinstall it if, as you say, you don't have a copy to
insert?
