I've recently installed a D-Link Broadband Router as a
firewall on my Windows XP computer to try to stem the
flow of garbage. It's attached via Cable Modem to
Time/Warner Road Runner. Everything as far as Internet
browsing works. The problem is now Outlook can't find
the POP3 and SMTP mail servers. Road Runner says they
won't help with the problem unless I disconnect
everything and then call them back. When I do that, the
problem disappears (I should try this with my
customers). Road Runner's previous advise was to use the
generic seeming "pop-server" and "smtp-server" with no
other information or IP addresses for their mail server.
