I have a Office Data file (.pts) on my desk top with all previous email data
which I can not access at all. The message is said " please choose the
programm to open" and it will give me a list of programs but I can not find
Outlook Express. How I can open this file. Thank you.

Outlook Express is NOT THE SAME or affiliated product with Outlook. They
are wholly separate programs. Stop confusing the product simply because
they share a word in their product title. Word and WordPerfect are also
unrelated products.

Outlook Express cannot read .pst files. PST files are created and used by
Outlook. That means you need to have Outlook installed to open the .pst
file. Also, there is no file association normally assigned to .pst files to
have them opened by Outlook, so double-clicking on them won't do anything
(other than give you the message that you reported saying that no program
has been associated with .pst files). Open Outlook and use its File -> Open
menu to open your old .pst file.

In the registry:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pst

which only affiliates the PSTFile object with this filetype association, and
PSTfile is defined at:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PSTFile

However, there is no InProcServer subkey listed under there identifying
which program to use to open the .pst file. All it lists is the default
icon used when listing .pst files in Explorer. So the .pst filetype has not
been associated with any program to read it. Open it while in Outlook.
