Outlook XP: Sending email on command instead of automatically

After clicking Send when composing an email in Outlook 2000, it would put it
into the Outbox and wouldn't send until the user click "Send" under tools or
until the next automatic send/recieve process is initiated. Outlook XP will
just automatically send the email. Is there a way to configure Outlook XP to
perform the send process the way Outlook 2000 did? I appreciated being able
to fix mistakes in an email that I realized AFTER clicking Send.

Answer depends on your mail account type, connection type, and automatic
polling interval.

Account type: Either IMAP or POP3 using SMTP to send
Connection: LAN
Polling Interval: Usually set to 3-5 minutes

Is it possible to set Outlook XP to NOT send the email when I click "Send"?

Thanks.

I don't see how when you have an automatic polling interval that short. As
it is you'll almost always be coming up on an automatic poll shortly after
you press Send.
Have you tried setting a longer polling interval and unchecking the "Send
immediately when connected" option?

Thank you...I didn't see that checkbox there...
