outlook xp and outlook express

Since 96 I was using outlook express but some months ago
due to a low power surge some file from it got something,
now when I tried to open it this message
appears "msimn.exe has generated an error and will be
closed by windows. Now I'm using Outlook XP, but can;t
import all my contacts fron express to outlook 'cause it
shuts down with an error message again. What can I do?
Also, while using outlook and I try to open a gif
attachment, it automaticaly opens it up on MS Picture
Viewer, which does't support anymations and if I try to
save this gif attachment to my hard drive it saves it not
as an anymation but as "all files", what can I do.? u can
use my email account (e-mail address removed) to answer me

You can install an image viewer that does support animation and associate
..gif files with that program.
