Outlook & Word XP: How do I print labels for Christmas cards?!

I get some incredibly frustrated with MS Word & Outlook sometimes!
Especially when it comes to trying and make it print a bunch of labels for
me, for addressing Christmas cards. According to the online help I can
start in Outlook's Contacts and select those I want to send messages to.
Fine. I've done that.

Now what?! The instructions don't say, and I just can't lay my head on the
keyboard and hope to learn what I'm supposed to do next. I suppose the
online help could help, but I don't know what the "correct" key words would
be, so I cannot enter the keywords to get the job done. So please, in
straight forward English, giving one step at a time, starting from Outlook
XP and finishing up in Word XP, how do I generate a printout of labels,
including some clip art, using the contacts in Outlook's contacts (selecting
only those I want)?

Thank you, Russ, I'll take a look at the link you've mentioned.

Outlook uses Word for performing mail merge functions such as Form Letters,
mailing labels, envelopes, and fax or email merges. For an overview of these
functions take a look here:

Hello Russ,

I guess I still don't get it. I went to the slipstick website, went through
the instructions and prompted printed a sheet of blank labels. What am I
doing wrong??? Is there some what that you're supposed to put something
into those little black rectangles in the Word document it makes up? And if
so, how??? I don't see anything at all, anywhere at all, that tells me it
has FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, ADDRESS, or anything. And believe me, I can't
read the minds of the programmers who came up with something that doesn't
want to help the user get the job done.

Russ, et. al.,

I finally figured it out, but going to the Microsoft Knowledgebase article
referred to on the website you referred to. (For everyone else's benefit,
the MS Knowledgebase article is: 284401, "OL2002: Mail Merge to Create
Labels from Outlook 2002 Contacts Is Incomplete".)

Thank you for your patience.
