I have recently installed office XP pro.Everything
works fine except Outlook. When run it works for a few
seconds then crashes.Windows error reporting offers to
send a report to microsoft then it restarts.
The original message was as follows:
c:\documents and settings\my name\application
data\Microsoft\addins\c:\program files\microsoft
office\office\SBCMSYNC.DLL is not a valid office addin
I originally had Office 2000 pro installed but this was
uninstalled a while ago. I followed a suggestion on a
forum to do the following:
use regedit to goto
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
\SCBM.ADDIN.1 highlight SCBM.ADDIN.1 and press
delete. This got rid of the error message but outlook
still refuses to run and defaults to error
reporting. Please can anybody help as this is doing my
head in,as i really want to use the extra power of
outlook 2002.All other components of office XP pro 2002
work fine.Thanks adam

Have you tried a detect and repair? If so, I have found
that if all else fails reinstall Outlook over the current
install, this will preserve your settings and update the
files.
