Outlook will not reinstall

After upgrading to XP, Outlook will not reinstall. The computer looks for the
Office installation CD. In loading the CD it comes up with a 1305 read error.
I have cleaned the disk and they still will not work. What does the upgrade
do to Outlook that it does not do to the other Office applications.
 
You upgraded from what?
When you say OL wont reinstall do you mean it is still installed but you
cannot repair?
Are you able to copy the Office disk to a HD folder?
