I've got Outlook 2003 installed on my pc, however when I
try to close it down, it leavs its little icon on the
system tray with a message saying Outlook Os Not
Responding.

I got to task manager and it is sitting there with memory
of over 40,000 in use. So I end the process. Outlook
then fails to start up again, just hanging. I have to
restart the pc.

I've tried removing nad re-installing, but we all know
that so much is left in the registry that removing isn't
really an option as it picks everything up on install
again

Event Viewer gives me 1001/1002 errors of 'Fault Bucket',
but the "Support Site" has no advice at all

I really really don't want to have to format this pc as
it does so much other stuff.

Any help gratefully received

Thanks in advance
mark

Outlook can stay resident due to poorly written 3rd party solutions. Some
of those solutions are:

1) ActiveSync (leaving the pda on and syncing)
2) WinFax Pro
3) Antivirus
4) Microsoft Word (word caches an instance of Outlook for the Word mail
option)
5) Older Addins that haven't been updated to deal with the changes in MAPI
or Outlook

Please see post related "Solution-Outlook not terminating/Outlook remains in system tray" dated 7/9.

Thanks,
Adarsh
