I installed an add in to Excel. When I finished installing, I lost my Outlook
icon. I went to reinstall and all Office Professional versions appear with
the exception of Outlook. It shows with a red X and when clicked, it says
that it is "not available". I went to the CD and could not reinstall from
there either. How can I get my Outlook back?

Have you tried a repair install? If that doesn't work either, please
provide more information, e.g. Office/Outlook version, and also what
icon are you talking about (desktop?).

I tried the repair and it did nothing. I installed Outlook 2007 Professional
upgrade (from 2003) last November and it was working fine until yesterday.
All icons have been deleted - both the shortcut on the desktop and the one in
the "all programs, Microsoft Office" menu. If I go to the "all programs,
Office menu, and try to add Outlook, it states "not available". It does not
give me the option to run from PC or anything else. It just says "not
available'".
Thanks again for any help.
Joe

The desktop icon is (usually) not a shortcut, but an applet with the
same function as the Control Panel's Mail applet. It can be restored
with TweakUI.

However, check first if you really do have Outlook (somewhere in your
Program Files\Microsoft Office folder). It's a bit strange that Outlook
would just disappear with the installation of an Excel add-in.
