I am running XP Home and Office 2003. Historically I have
used Express, but am interested in switching to Outlook.

It appears that the two products do not use the same files
to store e-mails. Am I correct? What are the names of
the corresponding files? Is there any way that a common
set of files can be used? Where are the files located?

Somewhat unrelated question. Under Office 2000 there was
a nice tool bar that appeared on the desktop. It does not
seem to be there under 2003. Is this an enhancement??

Thanks for any help

The Quick Launch bar has replaced the Office Tool Bar. You just add the
programs you use often. OE and Outlook are completely different programs and
use different file formats. OE uses .dbx files and Outlook uses .pst file.
Outlook is better for business use with Calendar and Contacts, while OE is
for personal use & newsgroups.
