What is the difference between these two applications?

Outlook is a groupware client with email (broken beyond belief), calendaring
(good), contacts (good), and task management (just the basics), and some
attempts at integration between those components. It relies heavily on
having access to a Microsoft Exchange server.

Outlook Express is an email news client, known for its numerous security
vulnerabilities, but still widely used by beginners because it is bundled
with Windows operating systems.

From what I've gathered from using the programs, the main
difference is that outlook is a PIM, which allows you to
put your calendar, to-do lists, e-mail, contacts, and
notes all in one place. you can also cross-reference
your word, excel and powerpoint documents with your
outlook contacts. outlook express just does email and
contacts. so it really depends on what you want to do.
