Outlook vs Notes

Jeez, we were forced to move from Notes to Outlook and let me tell you
about the experience:

1. The migration tool that moved Notes Mailboxes to Outlook worked
about 1/2 the time.
2. Even on a good day, I can not read this archived (PST) file.
3. We now have to deal with remote connection problems (synchronizing,
dialing in...) These problems were rare with Notes and could be
solved very quickly.
4. Mail does not get delivered (sets in a box on the Exchange server
that few people monitor). We are now part of a Domain that is quite
large.
5. Forced to use Outlook 2000 and this application really sucks.
6. Tried to send an EMail to a new address the other day and spent 20
minutes adding it to my address book so it could be sent.

Bottom Line is: Microsoft tries to do tooo many things via software
that hinder our daily activities. They do this is in all there
products, Word, Excel and Outlook. IE All I wanted to do was type a
letter and Email it, but spent an hour tryping to figure out why Word
is reformatting everything to something I didn't ask for.

Jeez where do these people live and do they ever interact with normal
users?

#3 and 4 - did you talk to your exchange admin about the problems?
#6 - you could just type it in the to field.

and thats my point, Diane, I am the new Exchange admin. Now I have
to find answers to problems, instead of finding the solution.
And yes, just typing an EMail address into a Send field should just
work, but instead, I am asked to enter this address into my Contacts
database, and why?

and

Then I would complain to your employer about the abysmal training that you
were given to prepare you for the change from Notes to Exchange.

Did you have any previous administration experience?

Without seeing what you are doing, it's hard to say why Outlook is asking
you to create a contact - it should not.

And my point is that Notes does not exhibit these problems. So the
training class would entail [If you don't receive any EMails] contact
your Administrator. They are supposed to figure out any problems with
the limited tools they have.
