When ever I make a reply to a webb page OE6 is raised by my system even
though I have Outlook as my email manager- why is this?

Also, has anyone discovered why Microsoft have provided Outlook and also
OE6?Which system is better to use for email? OE6 has no provisoin for saving
emails , unlike Outlook.

I appreciate that Outlook is more than for email.

OE6 comes with every Windows OS. Outlook comes with your Office
Program that you paid for.

When you click on a link, the default program will open.

Make OE the default e-mail client:

Make Outlook your default mail program:

See this for info about the differences between OE and Outlook:

Outlook is the more complete "colaborative" manager system. You can share
info between users which Outlook connects to an Exchange server.

Outlook Express 6 is just for emails and is part of Internet Explorer.

When you state "OE6 has no provisoin for saving unlike Outlook." you are
incorrect. OE can save emails just as easily as Outlook. All you have to
do is create a folder under the Local Folders group and drag and drop the
email you want saved to that location. No problem.....

Outlook and OE are very different programs. They may both have email
functions, but about the only thing they have in common is the word
OUTLOOK in the title.

Anyway, you can set a preference in Internet Explorer making Outlook
your preferred email program, not OE. It's in Tools/Internet
Options/Programs tab.
