Every time a new user wants to use a pc we have to change the profile. Is
there any way of getting Outlook to recognise a user by their windows login
so that when they click on the Outlook icon it goes to their mailbox?
BTW we do not use roaming profiles.

Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul

I'm not sure what version of Outlook you are using but I found that by
making a prf file, you may be able to achieve this. If you prepare the prf
file and deploy it to the user or leave it in their home directory, they can
double click on the prf (one-off per PC) and it will autoconfigure Outlook.

The document
at(http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/journ/PRFwhitepaperintro.htm)
says you need to run outlook.exe with the import switch, but I found running
the prf file worked. You can even give them personal address books and
personal folders if needed.

Hope this helps!
