outlook troubleshooting

Have used outlook for several years. We just changed computers and have
installed office 2003 student teacher edition. My email refuses to work out
of Outlook. In Outlook Express it works perfectly. When I try to send out of
Outlook a screen opens momentarily, so fast I cannot see the contents. The
test settings all complete and say everything is working but I cannot send
email, although I have received some email in Outlook. Any ideas what is
blocking. The messages just sit in the outbox.

Enable message logging and see if anything in there gives a clue.
